Summer Show

Thank you to all competitors who attended our show on 26th June.  Pre show entries were not that great but you certainly kept us busy in the secretary's caravan with your late entries, making it a bumper show!

Thanks also to our hardworking judges and stewards who made the day run smoothly and who stood up to the hot conditions pretty well, although I'm sure there were some aching feet by the end of the day.

Our main championships at the end of the day were filled with lovely ponies who were a credit to their owners.  It was great that so many stayed and presented themselves so well after such a hot day.

Well done and see you all next year!!

Course Builder

Just to inform all who compete in 'Worker' classes at our Summer Show that we have a new course builder for this year.  Nick Snelling will be building the courses for us and we look forward to having his super jumps with plenty of fillers for our show in June.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Isobel Barr who was awarded the NPS Presidents Trophy for Young Achievers, at the NPS AGM on 13th March.  Mrs Jennie Seymour chose Isobel from nominees that had been sent in by NPS Areas and was obviously impressed with her dedication to ponies both in the ring and behind the scenes and her willingness to help and take part in NPS Area activities.

NEW CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are pleased to announce two new championships at our Summer Show.  There will be an In Hand and a Ridden Supreme Championship which will only be open to members of NPS Area 20; ie those who have paid their £5 sub for 2010.  The winners will receive super rosettes, sashes and monetary prizes.  Details will be in the Summer Show schedule.

Also, new classes this year include ridden and in hand pure bred Arabs, CHAPS ridden and in hand and BSHA in hand Hacks and Riding Horses, all of which are qualifiers for their relevant championship shows.

South of England Show

Just a reminder to all of you who compete in show pony breeding classes.

The South of England Show Society have agreed to reinstate the pony breeding classes at the 2010 show with sponsorship from NPS Area 20.  We have agreed to a three year deal, but following this it will depend on how well they have been supported.

I urge you all to support these classes, otherwise we will lose them for good.  We really do not want to see the Cuddy qualifier at this show without a show pony breeding representative or for them to disappear from one of the most prestigious shows in the South.
